About the Department

  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery deals with the evaluation, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment of diseases, disorders and/or conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and/or the adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body; provided by a dentist, within the scope of their education, training and experience, in accordance with the ethics of the profession and applicable law.

H.O.D.'S Foreword

Our department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a comprehensive service relating to conditions of the face, mouth and jaws, including a routine assessment and treatment service for common oral surgical conditions. We are responsible for didactic and clinical instruction in oral surgery, local anaesthesia and pain control for the undergraduate students (BDS) and full scope postgraduate residency training program (MDS) in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Our consultants treat a range of conditions, including facial injuries, head and neck cancers, salivary gland diseases, facial deformities, facial pain, impacted teeth, cysts and tumours of the jaws, as well as mouth ulcers and infections with utmost professionalism and Compassion.

Our main aim is to contribute to the national and global welfare of human lives by developing the oral health knowledge and expertise in this field by promoting and providing a holistic health care to the under privileged and tribal population of central India to match up with global standards.
